Halloween

Yes, I realize that it is now the end of November, and I am just getting around to these. Time is just not on my side these days. Halloween was a lot of fun.
Big Poppa and Momma Beth got to join us for the entire weekend. That was definitely a treat because we don't get to see them very often. We started off by going to our friend and neighbors Halloween party. Then we did some neighborhood trick or treating, followed by going up to our Church for "Truck or Treat." Later on that evening we were joined by Grandpa and Grandma, then Aunt Kari, Bryson and Skylar the next morning for Tinkers first Birthday. Wow. What a fun filled weekend.

Our little Monkey was a last minute cowboy complete with spurs. My husband and I came up with this really cute and creative LEGO costume for him, but he went nuts every time it came near him. So cowboy it is! He loves guns and boots anyways. We are the kind of parents that let our children play with (toy) guns and encourage him to shoot stuff with them. After all, he is a boy. He will most likely hunt and all that good stuff. Super Daddy is already itching to take him hunting. Of course, there is not chance that Monkey would be quiet enough to actually see something but even if for some freak chance that he did...well he would probably shout BUUUCCCCKKKK and it would take off running for its life. All deer, moose, and antelope are bucks in his eyes and need to be shot. Oh boy. Already being encouraged by Super Daddy and Grandpa, these poor animals don't have a chance. On the bright side, at least we won't go hungry!

Tinker was a super cute Super Man for Halloween. Poor kid, he gets all of his big brother's hammy downs. I figure that once he is old enough to realize it, or bothered by it, we will try to do better with getting him his very own stuff. He stayed in the wagon for the most of the night, eating an apple, and making me a nervous wreck that he was going to choke. He mostly just gnawed on it and dripped applesauce all over the front of his costume.

I only let Monkey eat about 7 pieces of his candy that evening, but by the end of the night that kid was wired! Someone once told me that there is new scientific evidence that sugar doesn't do that to people, but I have yet to see it for my own eyes. That gets my wheels turning, though. I will have to look it up one of these days. I'm always up for interesting and contrary facts.

So, that just about sums up Tinker's first Halloween and Monkey's sugar high/gun shooting experience. Lots of laughs.
