Yum Yum

This watermelon has sat in the bottom of our fridge for a couple of days getting nice and cold. I've been waiting on the weather to clear up so we could go outside and cut into it. FINALLY, a beautiful day! The kids loved it. After they ate HALF the watermelon they went and rolled around with the dog in the yard. Their chests were covered in watermelon juice and black dog hair. Ugh, it was so so gross!

Samson

...minus the long hair, and divine strength that only God could grant. Other than those minor details I think we have a regular Samson on our hands. I have to admire this. Monkey grabbed the dog leash, that is wrapped around the base of the tree, and began to pull. He must have imagined to himself that he had enough strength in him to pull this HUGE dogwood slap out of the ground! I love the look on his face. He didn't give up either. He made several attempts grunting and straining each time. I was laughing so hard at him! This little guy is something else! Tinker just watched him. I would give anything to know what he was thinking in that moment.

Fishing

This is one of those random last minute ideas that Super Daddy came up with. Last minute and random usually send me into a frantic state, but for some reason I just went with the flow without whining too much. It was late this afternoon, and the weather was so nice. We knew which lake we wanted to go to but had no idea where to go. Super Daddy just followed his instincts and landed us this great little dock. I couldn't help but appreciate the rustic beauty of this dock, the calm water...oh...it was all really inspiring. I wish I knew more about photography because I took a ton of pictures in a crummy attempt to capture the setting and mood of the moment. I am going to spare you all the pictures and only post these few above.

The kids loved it. Not so much the actual fishing part, but the casting and reeling part. That's pretty much all I did with them. There were little brim all around the dock and they were exceptionally talented at robbing us of our worms. Monkey was amused with them. He would drop the line just deep enough for them to come up and nibble but shallow enough that we could all see them nibbling.
We are going to have to go again sometime soon.

Notice the dirty face?

This water was really really cold!

Monkey's friend from Church.

Our very first! I was a little hesitant because I wouldn't have all of my normal conveniences, but I knew that Supper Daddy was really pumped about going and I didn't want to burst his bubble. Now, I'm glad we did it and I can't wait to go back. Of course, I forgot the hot dogs, Monkey's underwear, and some pots to cook in, but we managed just fine. I am way too forgetful for my own good. It's a wonder I can function on a daily basis as scatterbrained as I am. Anyways, one of the focuses of the trip was for Supper Daddy to compete in a bow shoot. We went through one of the rounds with him and it was really fun and Monkey could spot the animal targets right away. He got all excited when his Dad drew back the arrow to shoot.
We met up with some friends while we were there which was nice-a fellow Mommy to talk to and sympathize with. This was also her first camping experience with little ones. All the kids were great. Oh, and Tinker also got to try out his bow. He can barely do anything with it except swing it around. Monkey is getting there. He can actually shoot an arrow, but not with a lot of force. My little archers in the making. It is a fun sport. I tried it myself while I was there...became addicted...bought a bow...and a dozen arrows. I had no idea it could be so much fun. Supper Daddy is full of tips for me. Apparently I am being groomed to compete at the next shoot in June. I just hope I don't embarrass myself.

Another Zoo Day

You are going to get tired of seeing these "zoo" pictures. It was another beautiful day. We went with some of Monkey and Tinkers' friends. Aren't they cute looking at all the animals. They never tire of seeing them. Monkey was so funny on that toucan at the park. He could really make that thing move. Enough to make me nervous. I just knew he was going to fling himself off of it, but he didn't, and I let him throw his weight into it full force. Man, I love that little guy. He is so funny.

Zoo

We are officially members of the Zoo! Oh, I am really looking forward to going back next week. The kids just loved looking at the animals, riding the train, and running around laughing and screaming. It is so nice with the spring weather.

Lots & Lots of EASTER

So many eggs, stained hands, Easter baskets...and so much sugar I am surprised the kids didn't explode. The pictures say it all! Monkey wasn't into the egg hunt as much. Tinker was alllll about it! He was surprisingly good at it, and so cute to watch. Tinker cracked every single egg he touched. We colored 5 dozen eggs and have been eating egg salad and deviled eggs all week. Oh, and I almost forgot about the new addition to the family. (No Mom, I'm not pregnant) I think we are going to name her Bell. She is red headed just like the boys, and a very spunky little guinea pig. She fits right in.
