A Trip to the Zoo

We had so much fun this day! (We went with our preschool church group.) Monkey just looovved running around with all the big kids and looking at all the exotic animals. There aren't many pictures of Tinker because he just pretty much kicked back and relaxed the whole time we were there.

Pretty Day

It is such a pretty day today. The boys are napping (I should be cleaning)
and I can't wait for them to wake up so we can play play play outside.
These pictures are from this morning. I made an attempt to get some
pictures of them that looked a little bit more professional. I took about
100 pictures, only to get a small handful of good shots. It's tough to go out
there, by yourself, with two children, a camera, a broke toe, and walk
all over a cow pasture turned pumpkin patch to get some shots of your little
men.
I guess that's just part of being a rookie. If I was thinking, I would
have brought along a friend to help keep their attention and my sanity.

Pumpkin Patch

This is one of many trips we will make to our local Pumpkin Patch this year. It is only 4 miles from our home and it is good ol' local fun. Once I get my stuff together, I am going to head up there and try to get some "professional looking" shots. We don't do the formal, in studio, pictures. So, this is the next best thing. I am going to have to force myself to get better at taking pictures if we don't pay an actual professed photographer.

Dirt is Yummy

So what exactly is it with eating dirt! Yuck!
He likes to eat it, roll in it, share it with his brother...
This too will pass, and I have to say that I am looking
forward to the not eating it part! I truly don't mind
him rolling around in it, but is it possible for him to
get worms or something? I once had a teacher who
truly believe that children ate dirt because their little
bodies needed it. Like a deficiency or something.
I admire her relaxed attitude about it, but I have a
hard time getting there.

Paint Day

This was a lot of fun. Yes, I am not educated on what paints are or aren't washable. Apparently I bought the wrong kind and some of the children had to be stripped down to prevent massive staining on their clothes (basicly I just went for the cheap stuff). I guess if it doesn't say "WASHABLE" then it totally isn't. It was fun anyways. My Mom gave me the great idea of making potato stamps and usuing different stuff to paint with; sticks, feathers, sponges, etc. The little kidos enjoyed it and that made it all worth it. I would love to do it again sometime and do homemade playdough instead. My Grandmother has a great recipe for it. It's good to have family that can pass on their creative wisdom and trade secrets.

Spunky Before Bedtime

They are so energetic after a bath and before bedtime. Check out the hair! Before we go to bed ourselves we go to their rooms, check in on them, and give them just one more little kiss. Super Daddy laughs at me because I am always just itching to wake them up only to indulge in their sweet and sleepy little bodies. If I could just give them once more kiss or snuggle just a little bit more before I go to bed myself... When Monkey was a baby I would just get so excited when he woke up from his nap, because I missed him. I am thankful that I still feel that way and that now I have two little ones to be excited over. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy that little break, but I prefer the little mischievous noises they make when they are awake. It's good noise. It reminds me of family gatherings. There is just something about having a home full of family and children and all of the fun chaos that goes with it. It just feels right. I hope I never loose sight of that. I always want our home to be warm and full of "good noise."
