Smores Night

This has got to become a family tradition. For one, I lllloooovvvve smores, and so do the kids. Second, there is nothing like a nice warm fire when the air is cool and crisp. Third, every boy needs to know how to build a fire. Fourth, I love smores. Oh, and it's good family time. It was, however, a dangerous time. Monkey's method of roasting a marshmellow was to catch it on fire as fast as he could and then fling it to either my face or Super Daddy's face so that we may blow it our for him. It's amazing that we both walked away without burns on our facing or bodies.

He has really gotten into climbing on top of stuff, and then jumping off. He is a tough one, though. No matter how painful the landing, he climbs right back up there and does it again. Notice the look of pure glee on his face.

Lots of love going around this evening. Monkey had a kiss for Momma Beth and Aunt Kari. He even gave his cousin Skylar a big 'ol hug!

Oh my. I'm just not quite sure what to do with this little guy. He is truly very ticked off at me for taking his picture. He simply wasn't in the mood. Of course I took it anyway! :)

Valentines Day Came Early

I jumped the gun on Valentines Day. We are always up for any excuse to eat cookies, so I decided to "practice" making these cut out hearts. Monkey had a lot of fun decorating them. He really like piling on the sprinkles! Little Tinker just didn't get into the decorating part, however he thoroughly enjoyed the finished product.

Monkey's absolute favorite thing to play with. We only have, like, 3 million

Super Daddy got this really great deer target for Christmas, and Monkey is just nuts about it! He loves watching his Daddy shoot it with the bow and arrow. So, Daddy takes him under his wing and makes him his little apprentice, showing him how to hold his bow and aim his arrow. It was just one of those special moments. He was even using proper terminology such as "fletching" (the feathery stuff at the end of the arrow). He took it all very seriously. I've never seen him so calm and he looked sort of grown up for a moment. It all paid off because he actually shot the buck, in the neck, and the arrow stuck! I was really impressed.

Fun Stuff

Honestly, I only clean these glass doors like once a month. It is a lost cause. They do this almost every single day, and both of them get a kick out of each others smashed faces. I remember my Grandmother telling me that after her grandchildren leave she doesn't clean their little hand prints or smudges off her sliding glass door. She says it's a reminder that they were there, and I suppose that in some way it brings joy to her heart. Same thing here.
I love my nasty glass... TV...mirrors...

A Breakfast Treat

My Aunt Micky, Uncle Jeff, and Cousin Tara sent us these magnificant cinnamon rolls, and I served them up the other morning. My kids loved them , naturally. It isn't often that they get to have sweets for breakfast so it was a real treat. They got their fingers all sticky and made such a mess, but boy were they happy little campers after breakfast. I think that made their whole day!

Last Picture of 2008, and First Picture of 2009

Oh, what a great way to start of the New Year. We got together with some friends, laughed a ton, and stayed up way way way too late. It was so much fun, though. These are Monkey and Tinkers new friends-gorgeous kids. They played hard and mine passed out in their bedrooms while we adults stayed up and brought in the New Year. The first picture of 2009 that you see here was taken somewhere in the area of 2AM. I haven't stayed up that late in so long. Thanks Kevin and Haley for tolerating us in your home! The food and fellowship was great!
