Easter

Fun Easter festivities at our Church Saturday and I can't believe that I didn't get any pictures of the egg hunt this year! I sometimes find it difficult to juggle children and camera during these types of things.

We dyed eggs at our house on a beautiful sunny day. This weather has been so great, and the lighting was awesome! The pictures would probably be better if I would steer my camera in another direction than "auto." I feel like my camera is still smarter than me!

Walking....sort of

About 1 month ago Jack started walking. At 13 months old, he was our earliest walker. However, an incident happened with his biggest brother. Before I say anything else let me say that Christian is such an awesome helper and truly concerned for Jacks well being throughout the day. Sometimes Jack gets a little annoyed with him but mostly he loves Christian. One evening Jack had walked over to my bread machine and was pounding on the buttons. Christian, like the responsible big brother that he is, picked Jack up and walked with him across the room to set him down in such a way that Jack's ankle was injured. His ankle was bruised and swollen and he make a big fuss about it. After the x-rays we were relieved to find it was only a sprain. Walking came to a complete halt and he has only just recently began to walk again. Poor little guy. He is a tough cookie.

Domesticated

Butter, from scratch people! Yummy.

Kefir - check it out. My friend Jackie introduced this to me and we make smoothies with it.

This makes me laugh. If you would have asked me 10 years ago what I wanted to be when I grew up and how many children I wanted or what my thoughts were about breastfeeding, cloth diapers, homeschooling, organic gardens, chickens, homemade baby food, or even my faith...my answers would have differed greatly than what I am living today. I am so glad that my path has changed. I'm so glad that God changed my heart towards men, husbands, children, career...etc. I love my husband, children, and the life God has allowed us to live. Domesticated is what I am.

Little Archers

Major improvements in their skills since last year. They bought these new bows at Bass Pro Shop with piggy bank money. Every single day it's "Mom, can we shoot our bows today?" I am sometimes reluctant to say yes because the mosquitoes are SO bad this year and we have to bathe in repellant to keep from getting lifted off. That, and also I prefer for Daddy to be around to assist. He is a much better teacher than me.

They make my heart melt.

Bees

A fun field trip to check out some busy bees and their hives. When the presentation began all of the children were standing about 10-15ft. from the inactive hive, and by the end they could reach out and touch it they were so close. They were so cute, and bees are just really cool. These folks love their bees and I was mortified when Christian was trying to stop on one nearby and then quickly relieved when he missed. My boys were a little nervous about the bees since they get stung at least once every summer.
